Tigua Handmade Pottery Mini Pottery Bowl 1.75" W Signed
This is a handmade pottery piece by Albert Alvidrez, a member of the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo-Tigua Indian Reservation. It is created traditionally, using either a slab, pinch pot or hand-coiled free form technique. The designs are hand-painted with pigment and commercial underglazes.
The designs are hand-painted with no pencil outlines, relying only on the memory and skill of the artist. The design is a contemporary variation of traditional Pueblo design.
This piece is signed and includes a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
Ysleta del Sur Pueblo-Tigua Indian Reservation is the only Pueblo tribe located in the outskirts of El Paso, Texas. There are a select few of Tigua tribal artist who make their own pottery. Albert works with all three forms of pottery making: wheel, ceramic cast and traditional hand-built pottery.
